Stationery is a part of wedding planning that can (hopefully) be a fun way to use your creativity! But getting bogged down in the logistics of ordering, assembling, and mailing save-the-dates and invitations can put a damper on the process.

Sending virtual invitations to your guest list is a great way to save time, money, and, of course, the environment! Read on to learn why virtual invitations might be a good fit for you and some of our favorite sites for ordering them from.

Why send virtual save-the-dates or invitations?

There are lots of great reasons to opt for e-vites! First, they won’t be as much work as stuffing and mailing standard paper invitations. You won’t have to assemble the invitations, collect guest addresses and address the envelopes, visit the post office for postage, or mail them out. At the touch of your fingertips, you can send out invitations to your entire guest list with just their email addresses and names.

This will also of course help you save time! And who doesn’t need a little extra free time when you’re balancing work, wedding planning, hobbies, family, etc? You won’t have to wait patiently for your stationery to ship and arrive and instead can much more quickly check a task off your to-do list.

Virtual save-the-dates and invitations also cost less than paper invites. Typically, they fall between a handful of cents to a dollar or two each. Plus, you still have the freedom to design the invitation how you’d like and can choose from a variety of themes, colors, and fonts.

And last, but most definitely not least, e-invites are more eco-conscious. Weddings can be quite wasteful, especially when it comes to paper goods that will simply be thrown away (but hopefully at least recycled) when all is said and done. Sending virtual invites is a great way to cut back on the environmental impact of your event!

How can I send virtual save-the-dates and invitations?

There are several sites you can check out to ensure you find an invitation design you love. Try Paperless Post, Greenvelope, or Evite. Most of these sites also offer the same designs for save-the-dates, invitations, and even thank you cards so you can keep your stationery design consistent.

You can also use these sites to track your RSVPs, so everything is in one convenient place. Or, you can simply link to your RSVP tracking site, and guests won’t have to worry about remembering to mail in their RSVP card. It’s an easy and simple option for both you and your guests!
